Game Guide - Stop The Bus!
Christmas season is upon us! Children will be off school soon, there’s a storm forecast and it can be a time to batten down the hatches and get cosy for Christmas! But after a while, you can run out of ideas of things to do to keep everyone entertained!!
So over on our Instagram (instagram.com/littlesitters), we’re doing a game guide to inspire you with new things to do!
Yesterday, our game was BEAT THAT! It’s a simple dice game where you roll two dice and form the highest number from what you rolled. For example, if you rolled a 4 and 6 your highest number would be 64. Then you pass the dice to the next player and say ‘beat that!’. So simple but so fun!
Today’s game is a little more complicated and more suited to slightly older kids. To help you out, we’ll explain it and we’ve even created a little printable for you to use! Find it here: shorturl.at/tFPT8
The game is called Stop The Bus. The aim of the game is to fill all the categories in the fastest time and shout Stop The Bus! This can be played by 2 or more players.
Player A says the letter A and continues the rest of the alphabet in their head. Player B then shouts ‘stop!’ and then Player A announces the letter they stopped on. It’s then a race to fill out each column with words beginning with that letter. The categories are Girls Name, Boys Name, Animal, Place and Thing.
For every unique answer a player guesses, they are awarded two points and for every shared answer, they get one point.
The winner of the game is the person with the most points at the end of all the rounds.
Enjoy!
